SL3S Running Belt Review

A few months ago I was offered the SL3S Water Resistant Dual Pocket Run Belt to try out for free and share my review. Well, I haven't been so great about blogging or running so it has taken me a while to try this belt out enough times for me to really offer an opinion on it. The belt has 2 pockets which I like because you can separate any fuels you may carry from your phone, just in case. It's supposed to be water resistant, but I didn't try it in the rain so I can't vouch for that. I'm more of a fair weather runner :)  The belt is adjustable which is great to help accommodate a variety of sizes. I found the belt couldn't adjust super small which could be an issue for really tiny runners. I'm about a 26 waist and the belt was a little loose on me. I found it more comfortable to slide it around and have the pockets in the rear as can be seen in the below picture.

Overall, I liked the belt. I have a similar belt from Spibelt, except the Spibelt only has one pocket. I used the Spibelt when I trained for a half marathon a few years ago. I think the SL3S belt is on par with the Spibelt for those of you who may be familiar with their belts. Both are great options for holding your phone/keys/fuel during runs.

Disclosure: I received this item for free, but all opinions are my own.

Ipsy June Glam Bag

For my birthday I had my husband get me a subscription to Ipsy. I kept hearing about these subscription boxes and thought it would be a fun way to try some new beauty products. I recently got my first Glam Bag and love trying the different items! This month's theme was #RebelRebel. It came in a graffiti inspired bag full of fun items to try.

This month's bag came with a gel eyeliner from ColourPop, a new company to me. They're made in the USA and seem really reasonably priced. The liner goes on really easily and lasts all day! Only negative may be that you really need to scrub it off with eye makeup remover because it lasts so long. I tried the Urban Decay eyeshadow but the color was too intense for my usual wear (i.e. work and running after a toddler). I would try it again for a night out although there aren't too many of them these days. The lip gloss is from Be A Bombshell which was another new to me brand. I'm still deciding how I feel about this gloss. The color is a little bold, but I think I like the texture of the gloss and that it isn't super sticky. I have also tried the cleanser from Rodial (another new brand for me) and find it nice and hydrating. The smell is also really nice and floral. I haven't used it long enough to judge how my skin is reacting to it, but so far, so good! I have not had a chance to try the hair mask yet, but I'm curious to try a hair mask since it's not a product I typically use.

Can't wait to see what's in next month's #GlamBag!

I'm Back!

Remember how I used to have a blog? Yeah, I kind of forgot about it for a while too. Life gets busy! So let's see, in the last year my business has grown, we traveled to Disney World twice, my son started daycare, and we are fully in toddler mode. Toddlers are busy little people with lots of opinions! So hopefully I can start blogging again and not take over a year between posts :) Let's see how it goes...

Small Business Saturday!

Last week I was lucky enough to be featured on a local blog, Apple Moms in the Hudson Valley as part of their weekly "Small Business Saturday" piece. Check out the article here: Small Business Saturday. I was so thrilled with all the positive feedback I received from friends, family, and colleagues on the piece. It's so nice to be recognized for being a hardworking business woman and mom. Thanks again to Apple Moms for featuring me!

My New Car!

So this post is about 3+ months late, but I have a new car! After 7+ years of my Honda Civic, it was time for an upgrade. The Civic was great, but I wanted something with a little more room for R and all his stuff. My mom has the CR-V and it seemed like it would be a great fit for me, too. My husband did research and knew that the 2015 would offer more options. He really likes options. So we waited, and on October 31st while everyone was out trick-or-treating, we picked up my 2015 CR-V Touring model!

Usually my husband is the one who cares about all the extras on the car, but I actually like them on my car! It has keyless entry which I thought would be pointless, but it's nice not to deal with the key when I'm carrying the baby. The automatic liftgate on the trunk has been helpful too. It also has heated seats, remote start, backup camera, as well as some other things. It's comfortable and the perfect size for me!

If anyone is in the market for a small SUV, I would definitely suggest checking out the new CR-V!

Reese's Spreads

I recently was selected to test out the new Reese's Spreads thanks to Influenster. It is designed to be a spreadable chocolatey dip (think Nutella) but with peanut butter. I love chocolate but unfortunately do not love peanut butter. I like the idea of peanut butter but really do not like the taste or smell of it. However, my husband is a big peanut butter fan so he got to be the family taste-tester for this freebie, and he loved it! He tried it with pretzels and on sliced banana and loved it both ways. He said it was so good he could have eaten the entire container in one sitting! So I'll trust him on this one and say that if you're a Reese's fan, try the new Reese's Spreads :) Or if you're like me and can't stand peanut butter, maybe you should buy some for a friend ;-)
